Christmas in... Palma de Mallorca

I've never been a fan of Christmas, but I'm a sucker for Christmas lights. Following my disappointing tour of Madrid's lights just days earlier, I was keen to see some better offerings. Which is how I found myself hanging around Palma waiting for darkness to fall and the lights to be switched on. But I hadn't banked on it being quite so cold. I was torn between waiting it out and giving up and going back to the hotel. The decision was easily made though, mainly because I was standing right outside a rather nice café...

When I emerged some 40 minutes later, dusk had fallen and the city had been transformed. The streets were decked out in stars and baubles while the squares were hung with canopies of lights. It was every bit as pretty as I had imagined. I wandered around indulging in the magic of the season. I was in light heaven!
